June 24 – First Board Meeting

Dear Board Members,

Please join us for our first board meeting on June 24th at 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Council for Crime Prevention Office located at 462 West Bearcat Drive, SLC, UT 84115 (off of 2100 South exit I-15 and 300 West on Mercer Way-turns into Bearcat). More details with the agenda and map to follow mid June.  Donna Murphy is checking prices for boxed lunches and wondering how many to order.  Please RSVP if you’re able to attend and interested in a boxed lunch. We will have two Executive Board Meetings for training before our General Meetings resume in September. The proposed second meeting date is August 12th at the same location and time.  I have attached our new board members to date and still need to fill a few vacancies. If you know of anyone  interested, please let me know. Our bylaws state the Executive Board consists of:   Article V Executive Board, Section 1.  (a) Membership pg 45

The governing body of WSLC shall be an Executive Board (also known as the Board) composed of the elected officers (President, President-Elect, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary and Historian), the Directors representing Affiliate Councils, the Immediate Past President, the Directors of the five Legislative Study Committees, and the appointed officers with vote. (b) The appointed officers (with vote) shall be the Bulletin Editor, Policy Chair, Public Relations Chair, Co-Chairs of the Legislative Study Committees, State Issues Chairs, National Issues Chairs, and Chaplain. (c) Non-voting members of the Executive Board shall include the Timekeeper Chair, Physical Arrangements Chair, Sergeant-at-Arms, Attendance Chair and the Parliamentarian.

(d) Nine voting members shall constitute a quorum.

I  look forward to working with all of you to continue to build on our success and thanks to our new board members who are stepping up to serve.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
